There was a bit of cloud in the sky this morning as we awoke and prepared ourselves and the vehicle to leave Camping Cabopino www.campingcabopino.com It's hard to believe we stayed here a whole month in December 2014.
Our intention this morning was to make our way to Camping La Bella Vista, about twelve miles from Gibraltar stopping off at the Carrefour supermarket in Estepona as we passed.
Despite giving the satnav the option of using Toll Roads on the way it managed to completely miss them. After arriving in Estepona we found the car park we normally use just down the road from the supermarket (can't use the supermarket car park due to height restrictions), not only full, but the spaces had been made much smaller and narrower. Clearly sending a message to motorhomers. Well, we get the message, and won't go there again to spend our money.
Onward then to Camping La Bella Vista www.campinglabellavista.com where we have a pitch (no9) fairly close to the entrance. It's a nice quiet spot away from all the Brits and dogs. We did remark how the campsite is looking a bit scruffier this time. I suppose that's the problem when you have no competition and can afford to charge a lot and get away with it.
The big problem today has been the wind, and we're expecting to keep it until Monday, the day we leave. I have parked the vehicle at an angle across the pitch to try and create a leeward side where the habitation door is.
We went for a walk along the promenade to San Luis de Sabinillas passing through the modern port and marina complex of Puerto de la Duquesa.
We had to go there for a bit of shopping. Of the two small supermarkets not far from the campsite, one was closed for refurbishment and the other isn't much good and didn't have want we wanted, including fresh milk.
There are a lot of Brits about in the area, again because of the Easter holidays I suppose.
Tomorrow we shall be wearing our fleece jackets as we're a bit exposed here, never mind, as long as it stays dry we can always keep warm.
