TUESDAY 1-09-20

Making our to the North Norfolk Coast our first stop was to Burnham Thorpe.

Burnham Thorpe is a small village and is famous for being the birthplace of Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, victor at the Battle of Trafalgar and one of Britain's greatest heroes.

Admiral Nelson’s father, Edmund, was the village Rector from 1755 to 1803 and lived with his family at the old rectory (pulled down in 1803).  This is where Horatio Nelson was born and where he spent his childhood.
